Priorities
Affordable housing
Citizens of the European Union, especially young families, deserve an affordable and dignified home. As the coordinator of the European People's Party Group in the Special Committee on the EU Housing Crisis, I am invested in development of concrete European solutions tailored to the needs of all member states. I am particularly focused on adaptation of the cohesion funds to ensure improved European financing for affordable and sustainable housing as soon as possible.
Sustainable tourism
Sustainable tourism balances economic growth with the needs of local communities in tourist destinations. I advocate for evidence based development of the tourism and targeted investments from European funds to make European destinations even more attractive and pleasant for tourists, while preserving the resources, traditions, and the way of life of local population.
Modern transport network
Transport connectivity is a key to economic development and an important link in European security and defence. In the Committee on Transport and Tourism, I am working on activities that will modernize European and Croatian transport infrastructure. I particularly advocate for the implementation of the Adriatic-Ionian TEN-T corridor, with the objective to better connect Croatian ports of Rijeka, Split, and Ploče with the rest of Europe while reducing emissions through the promotion of rail and maritime transport.
Balanced regional development
It is essential to ensure citizens have the "right to stay" in their regions and cities through balanced regional development. In the Committee on Regional Development, I advocate for a strong and budgetary ambitious cohesion policy focused on addressing the affordable housing crisis and demographic challenges. European funds represent an opportunity for stronger development of all parts of Croatia and the achievement of European standards.
Sport for a healthier future
Sport should be accessible to every child, regardless of where they come from. I advocate for investments in public sports infrastructure across Europe, as well as particular sports programs for young people, to enable a healthy and active life for new generations of Europeans.
Youth and education
Investment in knowledge is an investment in the future. I support projects that provide young people with quality education and work opportunities throughout the European Union. I also advocate for coupling of labour markets with educational systems to reduce unemployment and brain drain, making the European economy more advanced and self-sufficient.
Focus on cooperation with citizens
To the European Parliament I bring an experience from the Government of the Republic of Croatia as well as experience as a university professor. For me is important to apply the knowledge I have gained but also to continue learning, especially through contacts with citizens and companies affected by European legislation on a daily basis.
Together we work for a more successful Europe and Croatia!
